This year’s North American International Auto Show proved to be an exciting time for both Kia and fans of sporty coupes. The Korean automaker introduced the all-new Kia Stinger, a handsome, four-door sedan coupe. What started as Kia’s GT concept car in 2011 was eventually developed into an affordable luxury car, as high-end as something like the Audi A7, but expected to be half the price.
It’s no accident that the new Kia Stinger will see Audi as a direct competitor. Former Audi designer Peter Schreyer had a big say in how this coupe turned out to be. As such, the Stinger acts as Kia’s first movement toward offering affordable luxury vehicles.
The Kia Stinger features a long wheelbase and a fastback silhouette, leaving plenty of room in its cabin for passengers to enjoy available amenities, like Nappa leather seats or ultramodern stereo systems. Its sporty, race-track inspired performance is backed up by two engine options. A 2.0-liter Twinturbo engine is available, as is a 3.3-liter V6 engine, which boasts 365 horsepower. The Kia Stinger will also be equipped with the latest safety technologies, like forward collision alert, so that drivers can find a balance between speed and security. With that in mind, the Kia Stinger promises to be a great solution for those looking for something to fit both family and personal needs.
